Now, a trough is extending from Jharkhand up to Vidarbha region of Maharashtra across Chhattisgarh. With this, we are expecting good showers, i.e., light to moderate spells along with isolated heavy showers over Madhya Pradesh and parts Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours.
Subsequently, the rainfall activity is likely to take a back seat over the state of Chhattisgarh. Nevertheless, scattered light rains may continue over the region. In the interim, good showers will persist over the state of Madhya Pradesh.
As per Skymet Weather; rainfall is likely to pick up the pace once again over Chhattisgarh around July 8. In fact, by July 9-10, moderate to heavy showers may occur over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh including places like Seoni, Jabalpur, Damoh, Betul, Bilaspur, Raipur and Durg.
These rains would be under the influence of the cyclonic circulation that is at present over Bay of Bengal. This weather system is most likely to gradually move inland, thus bringing some good showers over the stated regions.
As on July 4, Only West Madhya Pradesh has received excess rains to the tune of 4%, else East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh remained rain deficit by 20% and 16%, respectively.
