Rains to reduce in Bengaluru, Interior Karnataka; good showers to continue in coastal areas

Bengaluru has been receiving on and off light Monsoon rains since last few days. On the other hand, the coastal areas of Karnataka have been receiving the moderate intensity of rains. With this, comfortable weather conditions have been prevailing over the entire state. In fact, the day before, the capital city of Karnataka, Bengaluru recorded moderate rainfall of 19 mm.

The last 24 hours were slightly less rainy for Bengaluru while some areas in Karnataka did record good rains. In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, light rains have occurred and the state capital, Bengaluru recorded a mere 3 mm of rainfall, followed by Madikeri 70.2 mm, Agumbe 40.2 mm, Karwar 31 mm, Mangaluru 22 mm, Hassan 20.2 mm, Belagavi 8.1 mm and Mandya 2.2 mm.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, no significant weather system is likely to prevail over South interior Karnataka region. Therefore, the city will continue to witness a decreasing trend in the rainfall activities. Thence, mainly dry weather conditions are anticipated over the entire state in the coming few days.

Moreover, an offshore trough is seen extending from Konkan up to Kerala across coastal parts of Karnataka. Due to this trough, the coastal areas of Karnataka is likely to receive a few spells of good Monsoon rain and thundershower activities during the next two to three days. Whereas interior districts of Karnataka will remain mainly dry.

Further, partly cloudy to the clear sky is likely to prevail over the state for the next few days. The day maximums will once again reach 30-degree Celsius mark. The afternoon will remain mainly dry and warm. Whereas the morning and nights are expected to remain cool and pleasant.
