Yesterday heavy to very heavy rains have occurred over many parts of Vidarbha and moderate rains were witnessed over many parts of Madhya Maharashtra and South Konkan and Goa. Isolated light rains occurred over Vidarbha and Marathwada.

But now the weather system present in the vicinity in the form of a Depression has weakened into a Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area and moved away further westwards during the last 24 hours. Therefore, most parts of Maharashtra observed a significant decrease in rain activities. Particularly the region of South Madhya Maharashtra as well as Konkan and Goa witnessed a huge decrease in rain intensity as compared to the previous day. The situation seems promising for the flood-like situation to now improve as the rain activities will further decrease. At present, places like that of Sangli, Satara, Kohlapur are battering from severe flooding.   Now, we do not expect any significant rain activities over the state anymore.

Mumbai has also received light rains only. Now, scattered light rain is expected to continue over Mumbai and North Konkan and Goa for the next few days. However, weather activities will be minimal over Vidarbha and Marathwada from now on ward. However, isolated light rains cannot be ruled out. Similar conditions are likely over Madhya Maharashtra particularly North Madhya Maharashtra.
