The states of Bihar, Jharkhand as well as West Bengal have remained dry for a long time now. Moreover, it seems like the winter season has finally took a backseat. Temperatures over all the three states have been witnessing an increasing trend since the last few days.
Currrently, an anti-cyclone is seen over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast in the lower levels. This system is providing warm and moist winds over all the three states. Along with this, a trough is also extending over West Uttar Pradesh which will further move eastwards towards Bihar.
Thus, due to presence of these systems, sky will be cloudy and light rain and thundershowers are are likely over parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The rainfall activity will be more over Jharkhand and the state may also witness some hailstorm activity during this period.
Thus, areas including Jamui, Nawada, Lakhisarai, Munger, Khagaria, Begusarai, Kishanganj, Araria in Bihar are likely to observe some rainfall. Meanwhile, the cities of Ranchi, Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Giridih, Deoghar may witness some rain and hailstorm in the next 24 hours.
On the other hand, cities of Bankura, Purulia, Bardhaman, Santiniketan, Malda, Jalpaiguri, Siliguri in West Bengal may also witness some rainfall activity. However, the weather of Kolkata will remain dry during this time period.
