Andhra Pradesh Rains 1

Andhra Pradesh has been reeling under dry weather conditions from almost a month now. The reason for this prolonged dry spell could be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system.

On account of the dry weather conditions, the temperatures across the state were also mounting above the normal. In fact in the last 24 hours as well, many districts of the state have observed the day’s temperatures settling in higher 30’s.

In a span of 24 hours, Anantpur witnessed the temperatures climbing to a whopping 38.7°C, Kurnool recorded 38.8°C, Kakinada 34°C, Kalingapatnam 33°C. In fact, the coastal regions of the state including Vishakhapatnam and Machilipatnam also recorded temperatures settling at 32.5°C and 33.3°C respectively.

However, parts of the state can now brace for some rains showing up. As per Skymet Weather, a trough is extending from West Assam up to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha.

In the wake of this weather system, rain and thundershower with gusty wind may occur in some parts of Cuddapah, Nellore, Guntur, Prakasam, Srikakulam, Vishakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Though sultry weather condition is also expected to continue during the afternoon hours but morning may be comfortable. These rains are expected to continue for 2-3 days.
