Delhi’s scintillating heat has always been well known. In fact, the summer heat of the national capital in the month of May until June is scorching enough to make it difficult for the Delhiites to face the sun. Though the recent rainy spells gave a pleasant weekend to Delhi and NCR.

From the last 48 hours, Delhi and adjoining regions have seen dry weather, however, now rains are likely to arrive in Delhi and NCR almost anytime soon.

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is seen over North Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab. A trough is also seen extending from this system across Delhi. Moreover, the Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation is seen over Jammu and Kashmir.

The contribution of all these weather systems is expected to result in rains over Delhi and may also cover the nearby states like Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. Along with the scattered showers, squally winds may also affect the national capital and adjoining states.

Temperature is also expected to drop marginally over these areas. These scattered showers will occur in the next 4-6 hours during the late afternoon hours. These showers will affect the regions for at least 24 hours.

Moreover, Skymet further reiterates that if the rain intensity and spread happen to be less over Delhi and NCR, another short spell of rain during the late night hours can also occur.
