The cyclonic circulation which was in the Southwest Bay of Bengal intensified into a low pressure area yesterday. Thereafter, the system underwent further intensification and has now become a well-marked low pressure area.
As per Skymet Meteorology Division in India, during the next 24 hours the weather system is likely to become a depression.
While good showers remained far away from Bangalore during the past few days, this weather system is likely to give light to moderate rain over the capital city of Karnataka during the next 24 hours. Also, the rainfall intensity is expected to increase around May 17 and 18.
While rains will remain light to moderate in nature, one or two spell of heavy showers at isolated areas cannot be ruled out. Weather conditions will remain pleasant. During this period, temperatures are likely to witness a significant decrease giving Bangalore its pleasant weather crown back for at least a few days.
Bangalore weather remained dry throughout the month of April. However, during the month of May the city has received its fair share of rain. In fact, on one occasion, 47 mm of rain was recorded in Bangalore in a span of 24 hours. Weather in Bangalore has been way better in May as compared to the month of April where record breaking temperatures were observed.
