Maharashtra has been witnessing on and off pre-Monsoon rains for the last few days. As of now, Coastal Maharashtra is the only region which has been recording good rains. But now, these rains are all set to pick up pace across the state barring Madhya Maharashtra.
According to Skymet Weather, rains will increase significantly across Mumbai and Nagpur in the next 24 hours. All thanks to the formation of the weather systems near the region.

Westerly winds are strengthening across the Konkan region, which will lead to intensification of rains and thundershowers across the Coastal Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, a trough which at present is running across Telangana, will oscillate eastwards over Vidarbha region. As a result, significant increase in Vidarbha and adjoining parts of Marathwada.
“Pre-Monsoon showers to the tune of moderate to heavy are likely to lash parts of both the regions. Nagpur may also record few good showers in 2-3 days,” said Mahesh Palawat, VP-Meteorology, Skymet Weather.
However, rains will escape Madhya Maharashtra during this period. The region including Pune will receive subdued rain for the next 2-3 days. Thereafter, as the Monsoon 2017 will make onset over North Maharashtra, rains will increase gradually by June 10-12.
