Rains to intensify across Northeast India, snowfall likely in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim

Northeast India has been recording scattered light rains for the last few days. Well, the wet spell is here to stay with more rains in offing. In fact, the intensity and spread is going to increase in the coming days.

According to Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is marked over East Uttar Pradesh. The system would move in easterly direction towards northeastern states. In wake of this, there would be gradually increase in rains by February 25 across Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur.

We can expect rains to peak on February 26 and continue until afternoon of February 27. Rains would vary from light to moderate, with few heavy spells in isolated pockets. Besides this, snowfall  would also intensify over Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

Weathermen are predicting that this would be one of the heaviest spell of the season for Northeast India. With these rains, day temperatures would see a significant drop by 5-6 degrees. Nights would also be cool.

The approaching weather system is likely to become insignificant by the night of February 27 or morning of February 28.

Clear weather conditions would make a comeback, again rising the temperatures.
