Both the states of Bihar as well as Uttar Pradesh have had a terrible month of August in terms of Monsoon rains. So much so that many areas witnessed massive flooding. Not only this, over 300 people lost their lives and over 1 crore were affected due to this flooding conditions over both these states.
However, there has been a respite from the conditions as showers have taken a backseat. So much so that only light showers have been occurring over the regions in the past few days.
In fact, during last 24 hours, weather in most parts of Bihar remained dry as axis of Monsoon trough is running via Chhattisgarh and Odisha. However, southeasterly humid winds are still blowing over the region.

Now, the eastern end of the trough will shift towards north and light to moderate rains are expected. One or two heavy spells may also occur during next 2 to 3 days. Hills in Nepal may also receive few good spells of rain. With this, northern districts of Bihar may once again witness flood like situation.
As far as Uttar Pradesh is concerned, by tomorrow, northern parts of Uttar Pradesh will begin to witness good showers as the Western Disturbance will also move along the foothills.
In fact, rains will increase over northern parts including Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Siddharth Nagar, Meerut, and Muzaffarnagar. Due to the combined effect of these systems as well as Nepal and Uttar Pradesh rains, northern districts of the state of Uttar Pradesh will also once again witness flood like conditions.
