Rains to increase once again over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have received almost three times the normal average rainfall until May 2nd. Pre-monsoon activities were intense and widespread Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Bihar is rain surplus by 293%, East Uttar Pradesh is surplus by 337% and West Uttar Pradesh is surplus by 299%.

Easterly humid winds are blowing from the Bay of Bengal over Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. A trough is also expected to extend from northern plains to East Bihar. These weather parameters will enhance the rain activities over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Since the last couple of days, western districts of Uttar Pradesh have been receiving rain and thundershower activities. Rain activities will increase over central and eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh between May 3 and 6. Districts of Bihar will also receive good rains on May 4th and 5th.

Until now temperatures of most parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are near normal. As the month of May is the hottest month. Heatwave conditions are common during this period. But we think that there will not be any heatwave over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar until the second week of May.
