Rains to increase marginally over Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik

Maharashtra has been receiving continuous rains for the last couple of days. In the last day, rains have increased over Vidarbha that received light to moderate showers with isolated heavy.

Parts of South Konkan has also received moderate to heavy rains at a few places. However, parts of Madhya Maharashtra and North Konkan including Mumbai has received light to moderate rains. Parts of Marathwada recorded very light isolated rains.

In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Monday, Gondia recorded 42 m of rains, Vengurla 37 mm, Ratnagiri 16 mm, Yeotmal 12 mm, Kolhapur 9 mm, Sangli 9 mm, Satara 7 mm, Harnai 7 mm, Akola 6 mm, Pune 5 mm, Mumbai Santa Cruz recorded 6 mm of rains and Colaba Observatory recorded 3 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, a low-pressure area has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and would travel towards west. Therefore, we expect rains to increase further over parts of Vidarbha and few moderate spells with one or two heavy rains may occur over Marathwada.

Meanwhile, some parts of Marathwada may receive scattered light to moderate rains. The intensity of rains over Konkan & Goa would remain light to moderate with a few isolated heavy over South Konkan & Goa.

Mumbai may receive scattered light rains with one or two places getting a short spell of moderate showers as well.
