The second fortnight of December started on a wet note for Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan.
In fact, entire Northwest India is seeing rains for the last three days. These rains extended up to West Uttar Pradesh. Cloudy sky has been continuously prevailing over most areas.
During the last 24 hours, Ambala saw 13 mm of rain, Patiala 9 mm, Najibabad 12 mm, Karnal 11 mm, Palam in New Delhi 5 mm, Amritsar 4 mm, Meerut 9 mm and Bareilly saw 2 mm of rain.
Apart from this, Cold Day is affecting the region. Day temperatures as low as 10 to 15 degree Celsius have become a pattern for the last few days over these areas. Major cities like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Hisar, Sri Ganganagar, Jalandhar and Kapurthala are witnessing this Cold.
However, minimum temperatures are in double digits over the same region. A rise in night temperatures has ensued since the rains.
This weather pattern is soon going to reverse today itself. The weather activity will start vacating the region today onward. Tomorrow, complete weather clearance is being forecast.
Rain and thundershower are likely to stop now. Sky will become clear once again. The morning will become foggy now and the chill in the air is going to pick up.
After a two day breather, a reversal is likely once again from January 11. The wind profile will raise the minimums. Rains will be seen over Northwest India January 12 onward.
