Rajasthan has mainly remained parched during the entire month of August apart from a few occasions when a few parts of the state, particularly the southeastern regions of the state had recorded some light spells. Though a larger portion of the desert state had mainly remained dry.

However, the last 24 hours brought some light to moderate rain over the desert state. The stations mainly in the southeastern region had recorded good spells. Isolated pockets of North Rajasthan too witnessed few showers. While most districts of the north and northeastern region including the capital city Jaipur had not observed rains.

Within the span of the last 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Monday, Phalodi recorded good Monsoon rains of 64 mm, Bundi 33 mm, Mount Abu 14 mm, Sawai Madhopur 4 mm and Churu recorded 2 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, the low-pressure area can now be marked over Saurashtra and adjoining Gujarat region. This system is likely to weaken gradually. Moreover, the western arm of the Monsoon trough which is running across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and then towards east central Bay of Bengal is also likely to shift towards north again.

On its way of traveling towards the north direction, the rain activity will further gear up over the state. Rains will pace up marginally from the Southeast parts of Rajasthan to north and northeast parts of the state. Thus, districts such as Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur, and Pali may witness light to moderate showers.

The regions of East Rajasthan such as Jaipur may also receive scattered light with few moderate spells during the next 24-48 hours. Temperatures may also drop marginally mainly in the western parts of the state.
