Rains to evade from Gaya, Patna, Pulbani, Paradip, Digha

Several districts of East India have been receiving light showers. On the other hand, remaining parts of the country have been observing good rainfall activities. Whereas several places in East India such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal have been witnessing subdued Monsoon conditions.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Pulbani recorded moderate rainfall of 84 mm, followed by Malda at 45 mm, Patna 11 mm, Gaya and Paradip at 9 mm, Chandbali 8.4 mm, Bhagalpur and Coochbehar 6 mm, Forbesganj 4.2 mm, Bankura and Digha 4 mm, Purnea 2.1 mm Chaibasa 1.1 mm and Muzzafarpur 1 mm.

The reason for these light rains over the state can be attributed to southeasterly and easterly winds which are blowing from Bay of Bengal. In wake of this, light Monsoon rains have been occurring over several places in eastern parts of the country.

Although, at present, no significant weather system is likely to prevail over the eastern parts of the country. Hence, no occurrences of good rainfall activities are anticipated over these regions during the next 24 to 48 hours.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, East Uttar Pradesh and foothills of Bihar will continue to witness light to moderate showers. Whereas remaining parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, interior Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal will witness scattered light rains during the next 24 hours.

Hence, cities such as Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Bankura, Digha, Pulbani, Malda, Paradip, Chandbali and Purnea will see scattered light rains during the similar time period.

Moreover, subdued Monsoon conditions are likely to continue in most parts of East India for the next few days.
