Rains are all set to drench Delhi-NCR any time now, as rain bearing clouds can be seen engulfing the national capital. According Skymet Weather, patches of intense clouds can be seen over south of Delhi and rains may begin anytime in another couple of hours.
At present, a trough is seen running from Northeast Rajasthan to North Madhya Pradesh across south of Delhi. This has already given scattered rain and thundershowers activities along the trough line. During the last 24 hours, light to very light rain occurred over some parts of Delhi as well.
Current status of Lightning & Thunder over Delhi NCR
Now also, convective clouds can be seen over the city, which are likely to give rain and thundershowers with possibility of light dust storm over South Delhi and nearby NCR areas such as Faridabad and Palwal.
In wake of this change in the weather conditions, maximum temperatures dropped by 2 degrees on Wednesday and settled at 30.5C, though it was still three degrees above normal.
Meanwhile, minimum temperatures have increased marginally due to persistent cloud cover throughout the night. On Thursday, Delhi recorded morning temperature of 16.5C that was also three degrees above the average mean.
Today, weather will remain cloudy till noon hours, thereafter sky is likely to clear up but will remain partly cloudy during the rest of the day.
After 24 hours, clear weather conditions with bright sunshine will prevail over Delhi-NCR. This will also pave way for cold northwesterly winds over the region, which will arrest the increase in mercury and both the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to fall marginally.
