Delhiites woke up to a rainy Monday morning and extremely pleasant weather. All thanks to the fresh spell of pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers during the early morning hours across the national capital and NCR.
In fact, drizzling is still going on few parts of Delhi such as R K Puram, Green Park and Vasant Vihar. Meanwhile, places like Noida, Lakshmi Nagar, ITO, Chandni Chowk, AIIMS, and South Extension have already reported good rains.
After resting for few hours, rains will once again make a comeback over the city by afternoon.

According to Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has induced a cyclonic circulation over Punjab region. A trough has been running from this system across northwestern plains.

This trough has been prevailing from the last few days, due to which Delhi has already been recording some light rain and thundershowers. However, it was earlier running North of Delhi, which has now oscillated southwards and is presently, passing through Delhi-NCR.
Due to this, rain bearing clouds had been hovering over the capital since the wee hours, that finally resulted in rain by morning hours.
Further, we expect these rains to intensify further and we can witness few more spell of good rains through the day. Moreover, this rainy spell is likely to continue for next 3-4 days, leading to comfortable weather conditions over Delhi-NCR.
“Rains are likely to intensify by Monday evening and by late night and tomorrow, Delhi could see some good rains. These rains will be responsible for pulling up the Monsoon surge over Delhi little early,” said Mahesh Palawat, VP-Meteorology, Skymet Weather.
Monsoon usually reaches Delhi around June 28, however with rains in offing, we expect arrival of Monsoon little ahead of the schedule by June 25 or June 26.
