After a long dry spell, the western and southern parts of Madhya Pradesh have received light to moderate rain and thundershower with isolated heavy showers in the last 24 hours. Similarly, parts of Chhattisgarh also witnessed scattered rains.
In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Tuesday, Khandwa witnessed heavy rain to the tune of 46 mm, Khargone 30 mm, Shajapur 12 mm, Ujjain 9 mm, and Ratlam 3 mm of rain.

In the same span of time, Raipur in Chhattisgarh also witnessed heavy rain to the tune of 31.1 mm, Jagdalpur 29.1 mm and Durg 22.4 mm of rain. As per Skymet Weather, South Chhattisgarh will receive light to moderate rain at many places, while the northern districts may get isolated showers.
Places such as Durg, Jagdalpur, and Bastar in Chhattisgarh may come under the influence of rain, while, places such as Khargone, Khandwa, Dhar, Betul, Chindhwara, Seoni, Hoshangabad and Indore in Madhya Pradesh may receive scattered rain and thundershower during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, Guna, Shivpuri, Datia, Tikamagarh, Khajuraho, and Shajapur will be dry and hot.

Thereafter, the weather across Madhya Pradesh will once again become dry. However, rain will continue over the southern districts of Chhattisgarh but the intensity will be very low. The rainfall activity can be attributed to the dry winds from the north which is merging with humid southeasterly winds from the Bay of Bengal.
The day temperatures over the northern parts of Madhya Pradesh will settle around 35°C - 37°C , while remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh and entire Chhattisgarh will record temperatures in lower 30°C.
