Sri Lanka has recorded rainfall during the last day. The low-pressure area which was persisting over southwest Bay of Bengal is now seen as a trough of low near Sri Lanka and South Tamil Nadu. A cyclonic circulation is also persisting over the same area. In wake of these weather systems, scattered light to moderate rain has occurred over north and central parts of Sri Lanka during the last 24 hours.

As per Skymet Weather, along with northern and central parts, we expect the southern districts also to witness light to moderate rain and thundershower for at least two to three days. Rains are likely to be patchy and will not last for a longer duration. Heavy to extremely heavy rains are not expected during that time. After two to three days the intensity and the spread of rain would reduce.

Usually, good rains occur over many parts of Sri Lanka between October and December but it continues until mid-January also. Hence the intensity of rain is not much. It is anticipated that the weather during the day will be warm and humid. The maximum temperatures would range between 28°C-31°C across Sri Lanka. The minimum temperatures would settle between 21°C-24°C.
