Rains to continue over South Gujarat for another 24 hours; dry weather in Ahmedabad

The state of Gujarat has been witnessing various shades of weather for the past few days. While there are areas, particularly the southern parts where light rains have been making appearances, whereas other parts of the state have been observing warm and dry weather conditions.

The last 24 hours were slightly rainier for the southern region with moderate to heavy rains making an appearance over these areas. In fact, in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Mahuva recorded 64 mm of rainfall, whereas Surat witnessed moderate showers of 10 mm during the same time frame. Other parts also witnessed light rains including Valsad 6 mm.

Similarly, cities including Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Amreli, and Veraval witnessed 1 mm of rainfall each. These rainfall activities can be attributed to the presence of a trough which is running West-Central Arabian Sea up to the South Gujarat region.

Thus, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, these showers are expected to continue over the southern regions of Gujarat for the next 24 hours only. Cities of Surat, Mahuva, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Amreli, and Veraval are expected to see some showers. Meanwhile areas of Rajkot, Gandhinagar, and Ahmedabad will remain dry.

After a span of 24 hours, rains will take a backseat over entire Gujarat and dry and warm weather conditions will take over in the state.
