At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over the northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Kutch. As per Skymet Weather, the persistent weather system is responsible for the scattered rains over the region.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Wednesday, Porbandar received intensity moderate rain of 14 mm, while Bhavnagar witnessed light intensity rain of 5.9 mm, Baroda 5.4 mm, Rajkot 4.4 mm and Surat 2 mm of rain.

Due these rains, temperatures across the districts have once again reduced and are near normal. The maximum temperatures are in lower 30’s and the sky is cloudy. It is anticipated that these scattered rains will continue over the state for next two to three days.

With the absence of any significant active weather system over the region, it is expected that heavy to very heavy rains are ruled out over the states. Heavy floods which had devastated the normal life cycle will not make a comeback over Gujarat.
