Rains to continue over Patna, Gaya, Ranchi, Jamshedpur

Both the states of Bihar as well as Jharkhand have had a decent run with Monsoon so far. In fact, these areas have been receiving light to moderate Monsoon showers during the past few days. In fact, both these states have also recorded a few heavy spells of rainfall in the past.

The last 24 hours have also been good for both these states. While light rains were recorded in some parts, a few moderate showers also lashed the region.

In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, areas of Bihar to have received good rains include Patna 15.7 mm, Purnea 10.5 mm. Chapra 20.2 mm, Bhagalpur 2.9 mm, and Forbesganj 4 mm.

Several cities in Jharkhand also recorded good showers namely Bokaro 23.8 mm, Chaibasa 7.1 mm, Jamshedhpur 19.2 mm and Ranchi 13 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal. A trough is also running in proximity of the region resulting in good rains.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet, good rains are expected to continue over the eastern parts of Bihar as well as Jharkhand. However, other parts of the states will only witness a few light rainy spells.
