Since last many days, many places over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura) region have been witnessing good rains. In fact, a few places over Mizoram and Assam have even recorded heavy rainfall activities. Likewise, the last 24 hours were no different and the entire northeastern states of India continued to witness rainy spells.
Within a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Lengpui recorded rainfall to the tune of 61 mm, followed byDhubriand Aizwal at 43 mm,Imphal36 mm, Silchar 16.4 mm,Tezpur15.2 mm,North Lakhimpur12.5 mm, Lumding andKailashahar11.4 mm, Itanagar and Tinsukia 11 mm, Tawang 10 mm, Kohima 9 mm, Jorhat 7 mm,Dibrugarhand Golaghat 5 mm, Agartala 3 mm, Cherrapunji 1.4 mm andGuwahati1 mm.
These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen persisting over East Bangladesh and adjoining areas. Further, this weather system is likely to weaken gradually after 24 hours.

Until then, several districts in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may continue to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers.
As the above-mentioned weather system is likely to weaken after 24 hours, the intensity of these rains over the aforementioned regions is expected to reduce significantly.

However, isolated places over NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura) is anticipated to settle with scattered light showers for the next few days.
Districts such as Imphal, Cherrapunji, Aizawl, Agartala, Kailashahar, Lengpui, andKohimawill continue with isolated rains during the similar time frame.
