During the last 24 hours, the God’s own country Kerala has received rains of moderate to heavy intensity. However, these rains remain restrained to the southern pockets of the state only.
Rain activity recorded during the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Kochi 38 mm, Alappuzha 31 mm, Kottayam 21 mm, Punalur 21 mm and Thiruvananthapuram 20 mm.
The weathermen at Skymet Weather expect moderate showers to still continue over the state accompanied with one or two heavy spells. Then again, there would not be any extremely heavy spell that may take back to the monstrous floods like the previous time. So, residents need not get startled with these showers.
These intermittent rains are likely to persist over Kerala till November 23. The state has already witnessed a good amount of rainfall this Northeast Monsoon in comparison to other southern states.
In a nutshell, we could say that Southwest Monsoon as well as Northeast Monsoon both turned to be good for Kerala in terms of rainfall. In fact, Kerala saw fury of floods that wreaked havoc over the beautiful state that is referred as the God’s own creation during the former season.
At present, Kerala has acquired deficient rains with a mere of 7%. Towards the end of this week, the rain deficiency will decrease further reaching near the normal levels.
