On and off pre-Monsoon showers have been occurring over the state of Telangana, including its capital city Hyderabad.

In the last 24 hours, Hanamkonda recorded 5.8 mm of rain, followed by Ramagundam 0.6 mm, Bhadrachalam 3.0 mm, Khammam 7.0 mm.
Currently, the cyclonic circulation lies over northern parts of Tamil Nadu and adjoining Rayalaseema. This system will move northwards over to Telangana as time progresses. Simultaneously, Southwest Monsoon has reached up to North Coastal Karnataka.
Due to the presence of this cyclonic circulation the conditions are becoming favorable to advance the Southwest Monsoon over to Telangana region.
Warm and moist air mass is also strengthening over the state. Hence rain intensity is expected to increase during next 24-48 hours.
Light to moderate rains will affect over the state, which is likely to result in significant fall in day temperatures and increase in humidity levels. The extensive clouding will also increase.
Rain and thundershowers associated with strong and gusty winds of 50-70 kmph are likely to affect over the Anantapur, East Godavari, Guntur, Krishna, Kurnool, Prakasam, West Godavari, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Ranga Reddy, Siddipet, Suryapet, Wanaparthy, Warangal Rural and Warangal Urban districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the period of next 4-6 hrs.
