The hills of North India have been witnessing active to vigorous Monsoon activities for the last many days. In fact, the rains have been showing their fierce face over the hills of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, the hills of Jammu and Kashmir are comparatively in a better position with normal Monsoon conditions.
Incidents of cloudbursts and landslides in parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have made the situation chaotic over the two, thus forcing the visitors to halt their travel plans.
As of now also, no relief is being predicted by the weathermen of Skymet Weather as we expect another round of heavy to very heavy spells in the next 24 hours.
On the last day too, moderate with heavy spells were reported in parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the intensity being much more over Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, the rains remained light over Jammu and Kashmir.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Nahan recorded the most 110 mm of extremely heavy rains, followed by Mussoorie at 99 mm of rains, Haridwar 96 mm, Dehradun 90 mm, Solan 76 mm, Uttarkashi 65 mm, Tehri 60 mm, Dharamsala 55 mm, Sundarnagar 45 mm, Shimla 40 mm, Kullu 38 mm, Mandi 36 mm, Kalpa 23 mm, Mukteshwar 19 mm, Pantnagar 17 mm, and Manali reported 13 mm of rains.
On the other hand, Batote in Jammu and Kashmir recorded mere 2 mm of rains and Jammu recorded some traces of rains.
As per Skymet Weather, the Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over central parts of Jammu and Kashmir and is slowly moving in the easterly direction. The low-pressure area is also persisting over Northwest Uttar Pradesh.
Thus, in the wake of this, rains are expected to continue with moderate intensity at many parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Possibilities of landslides and one or two incidents of cloudbursts may also be a chance.
However, rains over Jammu and Kashmir would see a reduction and the state can experience some light showers only. This situation is likely to persist for another 48 hours.
