Light rains to continue over Odisha, slight increase in maximums

Odisha witnessed light rain at some places in the past day. The state has been recording rainfall activity from the past few days. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Saturday, Dhenkanal recorded 2 mm rain, Balasore 0.2 mm and Keonjhargarh 0.2 mm.

These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation that is prevailing over Odisha and adjoining region in the lower levels.

This weather system is disturbing the normal flow of air mass. As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, the sky conditions will remain partly cloudy to cloudy during the next 24 hours. During the same time, light rain and thundershower activity will occur over few parts of the state.

Thereafter, the cloud cover will reduce over Odisha. It is anticipated that during the next 24 hours, a slight increase in day temperatures is expected, while marginal decrease in night temperatures over Odisha.

Also, shallow to moderate fog may occur during the early morning hours over north coastal parts of the state under the influence of anti-cyclonic winds reaching the region from Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha Coast.

The maximum temperatures will settle between 29°C to 30°C, while the minimum temperatures will range between 20°C to 22°C. Days will remain comfortable with pleasant nights.

After 24 to 36 hours, the weather will go dry with partly cloudy sky conditions prevailing over the region.
