Southwest Monsoon has had a good run with Bengaluru. While we may have thought that rains will take a slight backseat over Bengaluru as the month of September begins, the exact opposite has happened. A day before, Bengaluru recorded a whopping 72 mm of rain letting the month of September begin on quite a rainy note there.

Not only this, the last 24 hours were also rainy enough. However, the rainfall intensity was not as high as the first day. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Bengaluru recorded a good 33.2 mm of rainfall taking the rainfall count of September to 105 mm.

These rainfall activities can be attributed to the presence of a trough which is running from Andhra Pradesh coast up to the Gulf of Mannar in proximity of Bengaluru and a few areas of Interior Karnataka. Due to this, moisture incursion has been increasing over the region resulting in cloud development and furthermore, rains.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains are expected to continue over the city of Bengaluru. However, these showers will not be as intense and widespread in nature as they were during the last two days.
