Both the states of Andhra Pradesh as well as Odisha have been witnessing good rains during the last 24 hours. So much so that a few areas have also observed a few heavy rainy spells. Due to this, the mercury levels have dropped down marginally giving the residents a sigh of relief.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Baripada in Odisha recorded a whopping 57 mm of rain, followed by Bhubaneswar where 29 mm of rain was recorded. Other areas where good rains were observed include Balasore 28 mm, Phulbani 22 mm, and 14 mm.
Some light to moderate rainfall activity was also recorded over the coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh with Kavali recording 25 mm of rain and Bapatla witnessing 4 mm, Ongole 8 mm, and Machilipatnam 2 mm.
These rains are attributed to the presence of a trough which is running from Bihar up to Odisha giving good rains over the region. Another trough is running across the Andhra Pradesh region giving some rains over the coastal Andhra Pradesh region.
Now, rains over Odisha are expected to reduce during the next 24 hours as the trough has become insignificant. However, rains over the Andhra Pradesh region will continue as the trough persists. Good rains are expected over the state of Andhra Pradesh tomorrow as well.
