After witnessing rains in last three to four days, people in Tamil Nadu can expect some more rains making way towards the state. While some light showers have already shown up in the parts of the state including Chennai, the rainy spells seem not to be over yet.
As per Skymet Weather, a trough is running from Comorin area to South Chhattisgarh across interior Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, and Telangana. In the wake of this weather system, scattered showers are likely to continue at many districts of Tamil Nadu.
This weather system has already resulted in rains at many parts of the state with Karaikal observing whopping rain of 171 mm in the last 24 hours. The intensity of rains has now though reduced but still, on and off isolated rain activities are expected to continue over interior Tamil Nadu.
However, as per the weatherman, the northern region of the state including the state capital Chennai is less prone to receive strong intensity rains. The spread and intensity of rains are expected to increase in the next 2-3 days.
Though March is not one of the rainy months for the state but this rainy spell which is occurring since the month began is beneficial for soil moisture and ground water recharge.
