The states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have been witnessing rainfall activity for the last 24 hours. With this, the month of March, which was not as fruitful in terms of rains, ended on a rainy note for both these states.
Rains over the state of Odisha were way more as compared to the state of Andhra Pradesh. In fact, a few areas of Odisha even witnessed heavy showers as well during the same time frame.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Balasore recorded a whopping 44 mm of rains followed by 18 mm of rainfall in Baripada. Other areas to have witnessed some rains include Paradip 15 mm, Chandbali 7 mm, Gopalpur 2 mm, Tuni 3 mm. In fact, traces of rains were also seen over Visakhapatnam.
These rainfall activities occurred due to a trough running from South Chhattisgarh up to Comorin region across Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. A cyclonic circulation can be seen over Jharkhand and adjoining areas while another can be seen over Telangana region which further enhanced rainfall activities.
Now, as per weathermen, these rainfall activities are expected to continue over both these states for some time. Thus, light to moderate rains are expected over Kalingapatnam, Visakhapatnam, Koraput, Balasore, Krishnagiri, and Bhawanipatna. Meanwhile, Sundernagar, Keonjhargarh, and Bhadrak will witness light showers.
