Rains to continue in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha

As had been forecast by Skymet Weather, many parts of South and Southeast Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and isolated pockets of Marathwada have been experiencing rain and thundershower activities.

Also, many parts of Vidarbha have recorded intense weather activities. During the last 24 hours, Brahmapuri recorded 26 mm of rain, Wardha 24 mm of rain, Nagpur 6 mm, Chhindwara recorded 5 mm rain, Jalgaon in North Maharashtra witnessed 6 mm of rain, Parbhani 5 mm and Akola recorded 4 mm rainfall.

A Confluence Zone is still persisting over the central parts of the country. Also, humid southeasterly winds from the Bay of Bengal are merging with dry northwesterly winds in the Vidarbha and Southeast Madhya Pradesh.

In the presence of these weather systems, we expect rain and thundershower activities to continue in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha for the next 24 hours as well.

During the next two to three days, on and off rain and thundershower activities are expected to continue in East and Southeast Madhya Pradesh, and in Chhattisgarh.

However, the northern and western districts of Madhya Pradesh will remain dry.

Places like Chhindwara, Betul, Hoshangabad, Umaria, Damoh, Jabalpur, and Mandla in Madhya Pradesh will continue to receive these on and off rains. While in the Vidarbha region, places like Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Brahmapuri, and Chandrapur are likely to see these rains. Raipur and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh may also continue to observe on and off rainfall activities for the next two to three days.
