Rains to continue in Chhattisgarh, parts of Madhya Pradesh

Monsoon rains have not been as kind over Chhattisgarh due to whic, the state is presently 10% rain deficient. However, scattered light to moderate rains have occurred over this state during the last few days.

Currently, a low-pressure area is expected to develop over North Odisha and adjoining region. This weather system will gradually move in a west/northwest direction. Therefore, we expect fairly widespread rains over Chhattisgarh. Few heavy to very heavy spells may also make appearance during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, intensity of rains will decrease.

Simultaneously we expect rains to also increase over eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. As of now, East Madhya Pradesh is rain deficient by 9%. We expect few moderate spells over many districts of East Madhya Pradesh such as Siddhi, Satna, Damoh, Umaria and Jabalpur. Good rains will continue for next 24 hours, after that rains will decrease.

After 48 hours, both Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh will continue with scattered rains. However, rains will remain subdued over western parts of Madhya Pradesh, which is also rain deficient by 3%.

Although no heavy rains will occur over the western parts, but rains will once again commence over the western districts, which are experiencing dry weather since last week.

Places like Betul, Hoshangabad, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior may receive few scattered showers in the coming days.
