The Northeastern states have been witnessing rainy weather conditions for quite some time. Moreover, if we take the entire country into consideration, at present along with the Northeast it is only the northern portion of the country which is observing rains. Rest of the regions has been reeling under dry and warm weather conditions.

The last 24 hours were also of not much difference, wherein Northeast India recorded some rains.
The states that observed some rain activity in Northeast India include Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. During the past 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday,Dibrugarhrecorded rains to the tune of 23 mm, Golaghat 20 mm, Jorhat 17 mm, Mazbat 11 mm,Pasighat9 mm, North Lakhimpur 7 mm, Tezpur 7 mm and Silchar 6 mm of rains.

These rains could be attributed to the Western Disturbance which is moving across East Tibetan region and an induced cyclonic circulation over Assam and neighbouring areas. The combined effect of these systems will continue to influence the weather conditions over northeastern parts of the country. So, similar weather will persist during the next 24 to 48 hours as well.
Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will witness scattered rain and thundershowers, while northern parts of Nagaland like Mon andLonglengare likely to observe light rains during the next two to three days. The sky conditions would remain cloudy over the cited regions. Day temperatures are expected to drop by two to three degrees, while night temperatures will increase marginally.
Weathermen expect days to be little warm and nights to be cool over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. The sky would remain cloudy to partly cloudy.
