Since the last few days dry and warm weather is prevailing over most parts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. However, the extreme southern parts of Tamil Nadu observed light rainfall activity over isolated places.

In fact, during the last 24 hours, weather in most parts of both these states remained dry and only Pamban district in Tamil recorded 0.3 mm of rain. Weather over rest all parts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh remained dry. Similar weather conditions are expected to continue for another 24 to 36 hours as well.

Currently, a cyclonic circulation lies over parts of West central Bay of Bengal. This system is extending up to 3.1 km above sea level and moving west/northwestwards gradually.

Thus, in wake of this weather system, between December 4 to 6, coastal parts of Tamil Nadu will witness moderate rain and thundershower activity over many places with heavy at few places. But interior parts of Tamil Nadu will experience only light rain.

During the same time span, southern parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh will also observe light to moderate rain and thundershower activities. Meanwhile, the northern and rest most parts of the state will remain dry.

The levels of humidity will increase during this period. Day temperatures over both these states will decrease significantly between December 4 to 6 over most districts.
