Pre-Monsoon rains are finally making their route to interiors of Peninsular India including parts of Maharashtra.
These showers are likely to bring much needed relief from ongoing heat wave conditions over Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and North Interior Karnataka.
According to Skymet Weather, we can expect a prolonged spell of good rain and thundershowers from April 4 to April 8. This activity is likely to cool down the earth surface, leading to abatement of heat wave.
The activity can be attributed to the several weather systems. A tough can be seen extending Gangetic West Bengal up to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha. While another trough is running from Madhya Maharashtra up to Kerala across Coastal Karnataka.
Both the systems are likely to get more marked by April 4, giving rain of varied intensity over Interior Peninsular India.
However days will continue to be sunny, as activity will usually take place in late afternoon or evening hours. But evenings and nights will be fairly comfortable.
Heat wave like conditions will continue for another 24 hours, getting relief thereafter.
People across the region have been reeling under heat wave conditions for last many days. Mercury seems to be relentless as it has refused to take a dip.
At present, day temperatures across Telangana, Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka and Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of Maharashtra are settling in the range of 41°C to 43°C.
