Dry weather has been prevailing over the entire state of Maharashtra during the last many days. A cloudy sky can be witnessed at some places. The days were warm while nights were pleasant. Especially, the coastal parts of Maharashtra were witnessing a very warm afternoon.
Presently, an upper air trough is extending from northern parts of Kerala to Southwest parts of Maharashtra. This system would be further developing and extending to western parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Hence, under the influence of this system, clouding would increase considerably over the states. During the next 24 hours, Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining parts of Konkan region may experience short spells of light rains and thundershowers at isolated places. Entire Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan region will be experiencing light to moderate spells of rain and thundershowers at scattered places between December 22 to 24. Places like Kolhapur, Sangli, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Mumbai, Harnai, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Jalna, Jalgaon, Akola, etc. may experience these rains.
The western parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada may experience light rains at isolated places during the same period.
Day temperatures would be decreasing by two to three degrees due to the appearance of clouding and rains while night temperatures are expected to rise.
Other parts of Vidarbha are expected to remain dry and comfortable with cool nights. However, the sky conditions will be partly cloudy over here as well.
