The month of December sees shades of weather conditions across India. Right from rain and snow in the hills, coldwave conditions in the Northern Plains to rainfall activity in South India due to disturbances in the Bay of Bengal; the entire country observes some intense weather activity during December.
However, the last 24 hours were unusual enough for the region as far as rainfall activity is concerned. Dry and cold weather persisted in the hills and plains of North India along with a fog free morning. Afternoon remained sunny over the entire region.
Moreover, the most favoured location for rain during this time, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, which were witnessing some rains before, were also dry in the past 24 hours.

As far as foggy conditions are concerned, East and Northeast India including the cities of Allahabad, Lucknow, Patna, Gorakhpur, Siliguri, Imphal, Agartala and Guwahati observed moderate to dense fog. Central India witnessed sunny and comfortable weather during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, humid and warm weather, which is a common feature during this time, was observed in the southern parts of the country. However, rains remained completely absent from the region.
However, talking about the weather outlook for the next 24 hours, a shift in the weather scenario. The higher reaches of the hills of North India are likely to witness some rain and snow in view of the upcoming Western Disturbance.
The visibility is expected to drop significantly over the Northern Plains, however, no significant fall in minimum temperature is expected. Foggy conditions will continue to appear over Northeast and East India.
Meanwhile, the West Coast of the country including Mumbai will observe pleasant weather conditions. On the other hand, parts of South India will observe some rains once again.
