Rains paving way towards Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer by July 13

On account of the absence of any significant weather system, rains remained far from showing over the state of Rajasthan from almost a week. Most districts of the state have not seen rains after the very initial days of July.

In fact, last good spells that occurred over most parts of Rajasthan were during the fag end of June. Since then dry days have been prevalent over the ‘desert state’ of the country. Moreover, rains are not foreseen to bless the state before July 13.

Due to the absence of rains, the mercury levels in a few regions are also settling near or even beyond the 40-degree mark.

Initially, a trough was extending from West Rajasthan to East India which gave rains over the region but now this trough has shifted and is presently running from Punjab resulting in dry weather to prevail over the region.

However, a sigh of relief is anticipated for the people of Rajasthan as rains are slowly paving the way towards the state. As per Skymet Weather, due to the shifting of the cyclonic circulation from Uttar Pradesh towards East Rajasthan and the likelihood of the formation of another cyclonic circulation over the northwest Arabian Sea, rains are expected to show up in parts of the state on July 13 and may continue until July 15.

However, a few districts in the Southeast and East Rajasthan such as Mount Abu, Chittorgarh, Kota, and Udaipur may witness light isolated showers for the next 2 days. While, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer will continue to witness dry weather and rains are not anticipated to occur until July 13.

These rains will also help in enhancing the rainfall status of the state. As on July 9, West Rajasthan is rain surplus by 93% while East Rajasthan 4% rain surplus.
