Rains paving way towards Hyderabad soon

August 5, 2017 11:19 AM | Skymet Weather Team

Since the last one week, the weather over the state of Telangana and its capital city, Hyderabad had remained almost dry. But, due to the presence of Monsoon surge over the state, few areas such as Nizamabad, Medak, and Ramagundam have been witnessing scattered light rains. Though the residents of Hyderabad are still hoping for some good rains as the weather of the city of Nizams has yet been reeling under almost dry and sultry weather.

In fact, the weather of the entire state in the last 24 hours has gone on to become dry as only isolated pockets of the state received some light showers. In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Ramagundam recorded 0.6 mm of rainfall while the capital city Hyderabad had to manage with light traces of rain only.

However, the rains over Telangana are expected to increase gradually by August 6 and is likely to continue until August 9. These Monsoon rains can be attributed to the formation of a low-pressure area which is likely to develop over Odisha and adjoining areas. With this, several parts of Telangana including Hyderabad is expected to witness few good rains.

However, these rains and thundershowers will be patchy and highly localized in nature and will not give any major relief to the residents of Hyderabad from this continuous humid weather conditions. The day temperatures will remain in mid 30's and the minimum temperatures will be in the range of 24-25 degree Celsius.

As on August 4, the subdivision of rainfall distribution statistics shows that Telangana and Hyderabad are rain deficient by 13% and 4%, respectively.
