Northeast Monsoon continues to remain active over Southern and Coastal parts of Tamil Nadu.
The rainfall activities have decreased over the state but are likely to continue over Southern parts in the form of scattered rains. However, Northern areas will observe dry weather.
During the last 24 hours, coastal and southern parts of Tamil Nadu have received scattered light to isolated moderate rains.
Talking about the figures, Karaikal recorded 3.4 mm of rainfall, followed by Pamban and Parangipettai with 3.0 mm of rainfall.
Moreover, haziness prevails over most parts of the state during morning hours while days are experienced as comfortable.
At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is over the equator and adjoining Sumatra. This Circulation will extend up to 4.5 kms.
Meanwhile, a trough is moving towards equator to Lakshadweep region in the lower level.
Due to its presence, rainfall activities will slightly decrease further, but we expect light rains to occur over a few places of Coastal Tamil Nadu and Southern Tamil Nadu during the next 24 to 48 hours.
Further, these rainfall activities will increase marginally over Andaman & Nicobar Islands during the next 24 hours and decrease thereafter.
In the coming days, mainly dry weather will prevail over Northern and interior parts of Tamil Nadu. Winds will blow Northerly leading to a drop in temperatures during morning time.
