After rains lashing the northern, central as well as southern parts of country, they have made their way to the northeastern region resulting in good showers over these areas in the last 24 hours or so.
Moreover, in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Guwahati recorded 25 mm of rains, Tezpur 11 mm, Pasighat 14 mm, Kohima 7 mm, Aizawl 1 mm etc.
These showers are expected to continue over the northeastern parts of the country including Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh today, and these showers are expected to ease out a little bit tomorrow, clearing thereafter to quite some extent.
These rainfall activities have been attributed to the remnant of the Western Disturbance which travelled to the eastern parts. Winds are also westerlies at presenting, which are indicative of rains at any point in the year. A Cyclonic Circulation is also over western parts of Assam and adjoining Sub Himalayan West Bengal. The system will move further easing rains out.
