Currently, the Western Disturbance lies over northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining region. Its associated induced cyclonic circulation lies over Haryana and adjoining Punjab. Both the systems will be seen moving away east north eastwards. Thus, light rain was observed in parts of Punjab and Haryana in the past day.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, light rains were witnessed over some parts of Haryana and Punjab. For instance, Amritsar recorded 0.8 mm of rains, and Patiala 1 mm. Meanwhile, the cities of Ambala, and Ludhiana recorded traces of rainfall during the same period.

Due to presence of the aforementioned weather systems, the sky conditions will remain partly cloudy to cloudy. Short spell of light rain and thundershower with strong winds will affect parts of Haryana and Punjab during next 24 hours. During this time, rains are expected over Sirsa, Hisar, Fatehabad, Patiala, Mansa, Chandigarh, Roopnagar, Ambala, Rohtak Rewari, Karnal etc.

Night temperatures will also decrease in the wake of these systems. However, after 24 hours, rainfall activity will take a backseat over these areas.
