The temperatures of Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra regions that were soaring a few days ago are now settling near the normal levels. The flow of northerly and northwesterly winds has resulted in the temperatures to remain under check and are expected to remain so for another two to three days.
Presently also, the temperatures of most parts of Konkan are settling in mid-30’s with most pockets recording the temperatures even below the 35-degree mark.

As per Skymet Weather, for the next two to three days, the weather of both Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra are anticipated to remain dry. Thereafter, a north-south trough is expected to form across Vidarbha, Marathwada, and South Madhya Maharashtra.
This weather system is expected to give some scattered isolated rain and thundershowers at around April 6 or 7 over Konkan division while the same pattern will follow around April 7 or 8 over parts of Madhya Maharashtra.
These rains are likely to continue for at least two to three days. However, the intensity of these showers would remain very light and in patches over Konkan. In addition to these rains, chances of isolated hailstorm activities cannot be ruled out in parts of South Madhya Maharashtra between April 6 and 9. The regions like Parbhani, Latur, Osmanabad, and Jalna are expected to get affected by these hailstorm activities.
At this juncture, let us look at the impact of this hot weather condition on the agriculture of Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra:
Due to dry weather for the next 2-3 days, farmers are advised to apply light and frequent irrigation in standing crops to cope up with the excess evaporative demand.
As rain and thundershowers are foreseen for Konkan division, farmers are suggested that remove water from the paddy field at least 6-7 days before harvesting. Farmers are also suggested to continue harvesting of mangoes during morning and evening hours and to keep the harvested fruits in shade
Farmers of Madhya Maharashtra are advised to protect orchards and crops from mechanical damage due to isolated hailstorm being forecasted. Farmers should complete all harvesting process and store all products in a safe place.
