Rain in Kerala

Mainly dry weather conditions were witnessed over the God’s own country, Kerala in the last 24 hours. However, now the weathermen at Skymet Weather expect scattered rain and thundershowers to start over the state in the next 24 hours.

In fact, the intensity of these rains will gradually pick up the pace and many districts of the state such as Kochi, Alappuzha, Kannur, and Kozhikode are anticipated to witness some moderate intensity showers. These good rain and thundershower activities are likely to stay in Kerala for the coming few days.

The reason for these approaching rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation over the Southeast Arabian Sea.

The period from October-December is referred to as Northeast Monsoon season over South India, which is likely to set in the next 24 hours over Kerala. This is the season when the southernmost states experience good intensity showers with a drop in both maximum and minimum temperature, leading to pleasant weather conditions. However, this year it has been delayed.

With the upcoming rainy period, the days will remain warm but morning and nights will be comfortable. Top it all, the weather will remain pleasant over Kerala.

The maximum temperatures that are presently settling near 32-35 degrees will mark a decreasing trend. Similarly, the minimums will also settle in the lower 20s.
