Delhi has been witnessing hot and humid weather for the last few days. Also, rains have been absent from the area for some time now.
Due to the local weather developments, some patchy rains are possible in Delhi today. However, the rainfall intensity is likely to gear up tomorrow as the Monsoon Trough is likely to move southwards towards Delhi.
This is when we expect mainly light to moderate spells over the area. Sky will remain cloudy. Drop-In temperatures will ensue. However, the weather might turn very humid and uneasy.
Easterly winds are likely to continue thereafter for the next couple of days. Temperatures may reach around 35 to 36 degrees. Nights will also remain slightly humid.
Today, winds will remain mainly Northerly to Northeasterly over Delhi. Clear skies will prevail over the region with hot conditions towards the afternoon.
At present the western end of the axis of Monsoon Trough is passing close to the foothills and thereafter moving across West Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and then towards East Central Bay of Bengal. No significant weather system is close to Delhi and adjoining region.
As the Western end of the Monsoon Trough is likely to shift further southwards, the wind pattern is set to change over the Delhi area. Also, the Cyclonic Circulation which is now lying over Northeast Madhya Pradesh is likely to shift close to Northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Rajasthan.
