At present rains have reduced and we expect scattered light rains for the next two to three days over this state. The weather conditions till then may remain warm and dry over few districts of Punjab. The intensity of rains is likely to increase around July 12. By then rains will remain subdued. Due to good pre-Monsoon showers over Punjab, this state is rain surplus. As on July 10, Punjab is rain surplus by 37%.
These weather conditions are likely to halt during the 24 hours and then scattered light rains are possible to occur over Punjab and adjoining areas for the next two to three days.
Since the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Chandigarh and Pathankot recorded 1 mm of rainfall.

According to Skymet Weather, a trough is extending from North Punjab across eastern parts of the country. A cyclonic circulation is seen over Central parts of Rajasthan. Due to this, scattered rains may occur over Punjab and may continue till July 15. These on and off rains will be witnessed by northern districts of Punjab.
Whereas, places like Ferozepur, Bathinda and Patiala will continue to reel under dry weather conditions. Whereas, the weather conditions over Punjab are uncomfortable due to high humidity. Temperatures are in higher 30’s and relief from the warm and dry weather is not expected during the next 24 hours.
