However, these rains brought a sigh of relief for the locals as well as for the tourists from the continual aridness throughout the area.

As per skymet weather, a Western Disturbance is seen moving across East Tibet and a low-level circulation is seen persisting over Bangladesh and adjoining areas of the northeastern states.

Due to this, rain and thundershower activities are expected to occur at many places of Arunachal Pradesh. The regions of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may also get a chance to witness rains. Moreover, rain thundershowers are also possible over Assam and Nagaland.

Meanwhile, the higher reaches of Arunachal Pradesh may receive snow.

These activities are likely to continue for the next 48 hours. Strong gusty winds may also affect the region. Further, chances of hailstorms cannot be ruled out as well.

The temperatures that are at present above normal over the region are likely to drop by 2°C– 3°C. The southern parts of the northeastern states such as Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur may witness patchy fog during the early morning hours.
