Coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh have received moderate showers with one or two heavy spells since last two days. But the weather conditions of interior parts of the state remained almost dry. Anantapur, Kurnool, and Kadapa is witnessing dry weather since many days and will continue to.

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation was persisting over South Andhra Pradesh which has been enhancing the rain activities over the state. Presently this weather system has weakened and lies as a feeble trough. Therefore it is anticipated that scattered rains may continue for another 24 hours over Coastal Andhra Pradesh however the rain intensity will be less comparatively. Thereafter weather will once again go dry. In the past 24 hours from 8.30 am on Tuesday, Nellore received 54 mm of rain, Vijayawada 28 mm and Ongole 23mm.
Moderate to heavy rains have also occurred over Tamil Nadu. These rains can be attributed to the trough which was running along coastal Tamil Nadu. Now the trough is weakening and rains are expected to decrease significantly. But light rains may continue over interior parts of Tamil Nadu for the next 24 to 48 hours, thereafter weather will become dry.

In the past 24 hours from 8.30 am on Tuesday, Kodaikanal received 43.8 mm of rain, Nagapattinam 42.9 mm, Karaikal 17.2 mm, Coonoor 17.1 mm, Coimbatore 13.4 mm and the capital city Chennai also witnessed light rain of 10.2 mm.
