According to Skymet Weather, the intensity of rains was more over Punjab and Haryana as compared to Rajasthan. Following are the rainfall figures recorded across these states in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday.
As per weathermen, an active Western Disturbance has been affecting Western Himalayas that had induced a cyclonic circulation over Northwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas. A trough has also been extending from this system which is running up to Madhya Pradesh.
In wake of these systems, fairly widespread rains were witnessed over Punjab, some parts of Haryana and North and East Rajasthan.
Further, weather conditions would still remain conducive for light to moderate rains to continue over Northern Punjab on Monday. However, weather activities have already started reducing over Haryana and Rajasthan, but remnants of the system may give isolated showers.
Thereafter, weather is likely to clear up by February 13 but isolated places of North Punjab, especially places adjacent to hills may see light rain.
In wake of these rains, maximum temperatures have already decreased but now minimum will also start falling.
By February 14, weather will clear up completely and sky would become clear with bright sunshine. With this, maximum temperatures would start rising again.
